Handlin' my bidness

It's time for me to dress like a grown up. At least, during the weekdays.

Mind you, I'm petite, broad-shouldered and have a medium built ( a lil' curvy.) Suits tend to make me look boxy. Nothing too expensive but I'll spend a bit so the pant or skirt suits don't look cheap. I just need to add some suits to my wardrobe.

Anyone have any ideas where I should buy my big girl clothes?

I will just have to suck it up (and open my wallet) and check out J Crew. I have bought my last two suits from Macy's. I'm still trying to find a way to remove the shoulder pads. I don't care if they are thin, I don't need them!
I know I'm not "big" b/c I'm a smidge over five feet :( That's part of the problem, especially with pant suits. I meant "grown up." My bad.

I got nothing for you this time sugar. The only "suit" I ever purchased was from Macy's and this was about 5 years ago.
But...I STILL love it and wear it occasionally if this means anything at all.

Em...same here. No help. I had one suit for interviews. Needless to say, I don't wear it anymore. 1) my fat ass can't squeeze into it 2) I'm a stay home mom. What for?

Sorry ;)

Y'all, thanks for the feedback!

Pooks, you are not fat. I will not hear (read) any of that.

Ann Taylor has really cute blazers. I have two! But the pants aren't very stylish. Oh well. Can't have it all, huh? Guess I'll be getting my duff back to AT.

Karaway, they send coupons? I'm all over it, girl!

Ann Taylor is swell. Also, if you buy anywhere nice, there is usually a tailor who can nip in the waist, take out shoulder pads, etc. If the jackets are still in style, bring them to the store to coordinate with updated trousers? Look at Las Fashionistas archive.
So says the mama in frickin' muckboots*sigh*
